2014 Grant Recipients

The Roscommon County Kellogg Youth Fund, an Endowment Fund of the Roscommon County Community Foundation, with recommendations from the Youth Advisory Council (Y.A.C.), awarded the following grants:

  • Children’s Bereavement Network: $1,600.00 for the Camp Live, Laugh and Love Project.
  • Crawford Roscommon Suicide Awareness Coalition: $500.00 for the ASIST Suicide Awareness Training.
  • Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North: $1,400.00 for the Good Shepherd Child Development Center Playground.
  • Project H.O.P.E: $2,500.00 for the Produce & Veggies-Important for You Project.
  • RAYBC: $1,200.00 for the Roscommon Archery Program.

The Roscommon County General Fund awarded the following grants:

  • ACT Now: $700.00 for the Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center.
  • RAYBC: $ 1,200.00 for the Roscommon Archery Program.
  • Roscommon County Animal Shelter: $500.00 for Shelter Equipment.
  • Roscommon County Habitat for Humanity: $867.98 for the ReStore Visibility Project.
  • Roscommon County Literacy Council: $ 900.00 for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

The Gerrish-Higgins Roscommon Education Fund awarded the following grants:

  • Roscommon Area Public Schools: $2,500.00 for the Middle School Steel Band.
  • Roscommon Area Public Schools Choir:$2,500.00 for the Choir Code Celebration.

The Greatest Human Needs Fund awarded the following grants:

  • Crawford Roscommon Suicide Awareness Coalition: $130.00 for the ASIST Suicide Awareness Training
  • Roscommon County Commission on Aging: $60.00 for the Senior Dignity Program.

The Morley Foundation Fund awarded the following grants:

  • Lyon Township: $1,400.00 for the Park 27 Playground Renovation Project.
  • Children’s Bereavement Network: $ 900.00 for the Camp Live, Laugh, Love Project.
  • Roscommon Metropolitan Reaction Authority: $350.00 for the purchase of new equipment.

The Wade Family Donor Advised Fund has awarded the following grants:

  • Roscommon County Literacy Council: $600.00 for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Project.
  • Westminster Church: $600.00 the Camp Westminster Tuition Assistance for a Roscommon County Camper.

The Zonta Women’s & Children’s Fund has awarded the following grants:

  • ACT Now: $150.00 for the Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center.
  • COOR Education Center: $150.00 for the Glass/Pottery Kiln project.

The Cornerstone Fund awarded $150.00 to the Roscommon Metropolitan Recreation Authority for new equipment purchase.

The Endowment for Higgins Lake Fund awarded $2,500.00 to the Higgins Lake Foundation for the Marine Patrol on Higgins Lake.

The Alexa A. Luck Memorial Fund awarded $200.00 to the Roscommon County Literacy Council for the Penmanship & Calligraphy project.

The Marilyn Brown Memorial Fund awarded $370.00 to the Crawford Roscommon Suicide Awareness Coalition for the ASIST Suicide Awareness project.

The Roscommon County Tobacco Settlement Fund awarded $690.00 to the Roscommon County Commission on Aging for the Senior Dignity Project.
