Roscommon Historic Model Train Club Park Landscaping Project – May 18, 2013

trainThe Roscommon County Community Foundation’s youth group, The Youth Advisory Council (YAC), is taking a leadership roll in the Roscommon Train Park landscaping project. As their 2013 Spring Community Service Project, the YAC is already organizing the details, and will be providing
“Sweat Equity” to help to beautify the park.

The YAC is also asking service groups, churches, organizations and/or businesses to “Adopt a Garden”. Each group can select an area in the park that they will sponsor, donating plants, bricks, landscaping materials and even labor. Or they can donate the funding necessary to purchase the materials – whatever it takes to complete a designated section of the park.

In addition, the YAC is coordinating volunteers for the day. Individuals, Youth Groups, Service Groups, Businesses and Organizations are encouraged to join the YAC for a day of fun and work, with a great sense of accomplishment sprinkled in.

If you would like more information about this YAC Community Service Project, please contact Mary Fry at the Roscommon County Community Foundation. She can be reached from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, at (989) 275-3112, or by e-mail at rococofo@nullyahoo.com
