AuSable Free Clinic Receives Grant from RCCF to Assist with the Purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator

The AuSable Free Clinic was recently able to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) with the help of a $500.00 grant from the Roscommon County Community Foundation. The Wade Family General Fund contributed $350.00 and the Roscommon County General Fund added $150.00.

The AuSable Free Clinic serves Crawford, Roscommon, Oscoda and Montmorency counties and provides health care and referrals to patients who are low income and uninsured or underinsured. They have recently expanded their hours and are now seeing more patients which increases the risk of someone with a cardiac condition experiencing a problem at the clinic. Immediate access to an AED in such a case has been shown to improve patient survival rates.
