Good Shepherd United Methodist Church Receives Grant for Free Community Dinners

The Roscommon County Community Foundation recently provided a grant in the amount of $937.00 to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North. The grant was awarded to assist with the cost of the Free Community Dinners program.

This program is designed to provide a nutritious meal, without cost, in a welcoming atmosphere where individuals and families can gather in comfort and safety. The meals are open to anyone in the Roscommon or surrounding area that can travel to the church for dinner. In addition, they have a personal care closet which provides nonfood essentials such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and paper products. The dinners are offered once a month at the church and recent dinners have served about 170 meals.

The funds for the Grant were provided by the Morley Foundation Fund ($879.00), and the Wade Family Fund ($58.00), both Endowment Funds of the Roscommon County Community Foundation.
