Higgins Lake Land Conservancy Receives Grant for Land Conservancy Magazine

The Roscommon County Community Foundation recently provided a grant to the Higgins Lake Land Conservancy (HLLC) to help pay for the cost of the Higgins Lake Land Conservancy Awareness Magazine. This is a sixteen page, four color glossy
magazine which is intended to help the HHLC increase community awareness of their goals and objectives and to ultimately encourage active participation by land owners in the Higgins Lake watershed area.

The HLLC is a not-for-profit corporation formed to acquire, sell and otherwise manage lands solely within the Higgins Lake watershed and surrounding areas in a manner which promotes prudent environmental use and conservation of the Higgins Lake area. The Higgins Lake watershed area covers approximately 9,000 acres and is about 11 miles long.

The Endowment for Higgins Lake Fund provided $546, and the John Morley Family Foundation for Higgins Lake Fund added $454 to complete the $1,000.00 grant.
