The MGNP provides environmental educational programs to area schools. Local youth interested in learning more about the environment can take advantage of the 3 day outdoor nature camp which is held the third week of July.

The 60 acre preserve is also open to the public for hiking, snowshoeing and birding activities.  The asphalt and boardwalk trails are wheelchair friendly and provide access through the woods and wetlands along the beginning of Tank Creek.
