Beyond providing Grants and Scholarships, the Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) works to partner non-profit organizations in a collaborative effort to improve services and programs in the communities it serves. Recently, the RCCF facilitated a partnership with the Pen and Palette Club of Roscommon and the R.O.O.C., Inc. helping to deliver the gift of art to R.O.O.C.’s cafeteria.

R.O.O.C., Inc. received a Grant from the RCCF to purchase ADA compliant tables and chairs for its cafeteria. Ms. Cherie Johnson, Executive Director of R.O.O.C., Inc. stated in her thank you letter that she would not be able to purchase artwork as planned due to the increase in the cost of the tables and chairs.

The RCCF contacted the Pen and Palette Club to see if they would consider lending works of art on a short term basis. The members of Pen and Palette not only agreed to rotate pieces every 6 months, they donated approximately 7 works of art for permanent display.

It was noted by Ms. Johnson that some of the clients have moved from their regular lunchtime spots to a table near the works of art they enjoy most.

The RCCF is working with additional organizations to provide artwork throughout the R.O.O.C. building. For more information on how you can donate the gift of art, please contact the Roscommon County Community Foundation at 989-275-3112 or info@MyRCCF.org.
