The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Rogers Family Endowment for Houghton Lake. This new Endowment Fund, which was initiated by the Gregory and Candace Rogers Family, is intended to support projects, causes and activities which protect, improve, enhance or increase appreciation for the natural environment and clean water of Houghton Lake and its watersheds.
This Fund is very significant to the Community Foundation, as well as to Roscommon County, because it represents the first Endowment Fund established specifically for the support of Houghton Lake. The lakes in Roscommon County provide year round support of our local economy and the Foundation is very pleased to provide a means to support the maintenance and appreciation of this states largest inland lake.
You may already know that the Foundation has several existing Funds which support Higgins Lake. These Funds have assisted with multiple projects and programs including Milfoil removal with the Suction Harvester, erosion control, ice rescue and safety equipment, a side scan sonar for rescue and retrieval, a boat wash and much more. We are very excited about the potential for
similar projects to be supported, through your donations, for Houghton Lake and its watersheds.
This new Fund is now open and accepting donations from the community. To support the Rogers Family Endowment for Houghton Lake, you may mail a check to RCCF at PO Box. 824, Roscommon, MI 48653, or make a donation online.
If you have any questions about this or any other Funds of the RCCF, please contact Mary Fry, President/CEO, at 989-275-3112.
