Roscommon Township Receives RCCF Grant for American Veteran Traveling Wall visit

Roscommon Township was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $1,000.00 to assist with the expenses to bring the American Veteran Traveling Tribute Wall to Houghton Lake this summer. The grant was provided from the Morley Foundation Fund through the Roscommon County Community Foundation.

The intent is to Honor, Respect and Remember all of the veterans of the community with special emphasis on the Vietnam era veterans. It is hoped that the presence of the wall will help to heal some old hurts, educate younger generations and celebrate the lives of those who “wrote blank checks” with their lives in service to their country.

The Traveling Wall will be on display on the grounds of the Roscommon Township hall from July 10th to the 13th and the public is invited and encouraged to stop for a visit.
