The W.H. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund was established with the Roscommon County Community Foundation in 2014. Not only did Mark Scott, Fund Initiator want to honor his father; he wanted to help students that choose a career path “working with their hands”.
W.H. “Scotty” Scott owned and operated Scott’s Wood Products in Roscommon. In later years, the business expanded to include excavating, septic services and storage units. Scotty loved to play with his “Big Boy Toys.” If it had levers or a steering wheel, he could operate it and had fun doing so.
The Fund will be used to provide a scholarship to Roscommon Area students entering or enrolled in an accredited vocational, technical or skilled trade school.
